Lush Cosmetics: Twilight Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to my blog, I’m writing my first draft (which is what you’ll probably see) in my bath tub because I’m reviewing this bath bomb, this is my first impression!

I got this bath bomb, ‘twilight’ and I really thought it would be super cool, which it is. It started off baby pink, but soon it turned a dark purple, and the finished water doesn’t end the same as usual Lush bath products, you can still see through the water, usually the color is so rich you don’t even see through it.

It does take a long time to get the bomb to fully dissolve too, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, some bath bombs dissolve after five minutes, this took like 20 minutes to dissolve. The bath bomb does smell really good, but this is definitely unique for lush as it differs significantly from lush’s other bath bombs.
Overall, I have mixed feelings. Maybe I just got the weaker one of the batch. Or maybe it’s just something I have to expect when using other bath bombs I have never used before. I do recommend though, despite my expectations and experiences.

If any of you have used this product before and you’ve had other opinions or experiences, feel free to comment them, to give fellow readers other insight of what this product can be!

P.s. I decided to add this in after I got out of the bath and looked at my feet and bath tub and there is a ton of glitter, I didn’t know there was any until I got out, so if you don’t like glitter residue on your body or tub, don’t use this product!

How to fix a broken nail!

Hey guys,

Today I decided to write about this one hack I saw online that can help you with any occasion. I decided to write about broken nails because lately it’s been a trend to wear acrylic nails, so I figured it’ll be helpful for you guys to know about this hack.

Broken Fingernail? Follow these steps!

  • Medium fine buffer the nail that is broken, do not rip the broken part off!
  • Take some regular nail glue and apply some right around and on the tear.
  • Next, just take a tiny piece of mesh or other stretchy material and use a tweezer to apply it on top of the tear.
  • Using the tweezers, apply the material on top of the glue which should be on top of the tear.
  • Apply more nail glue on top of the material, don’t be afraid of using too much.
  • After the glue is dried completely, buff the material into shape with your fingernail.
  • Next, using the same file you’ve been using to buff, file down the edges of your nail that may be sharp.
  • Gently buff the material more until it starts to be smooth.
  • The piece should be totally smooth and if it isn’t keep buffing it.
  • After you’re done buffering, rinse the finger gently to help remove nail shavings that may be stuck in the material.
  • Add a layer of nail glue on top and let it air dry.
  • Buffer everything smooth and let the nail glue dry.
  • After everything’s dry you’re safe to apply the top coat of nail polish and then paint them like always and no one will be able to know that your nail broke!

It is a short post today, I am sorry about that! I hope you guys do find this helpful. Make sure to give this post a big like and comment if you have any suggestions for future posts. Prom Makeup Tutorial!

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to my blog. I’m sorry for not posting last week, I was busy and at a loss of post ideas. I do know prom season is finally here and in my area, most schools have already had their prom, but if you live in a different area or state or country and you still don’t know what to do for prom, then keep reading for simple makeup you can do at home!

Look #1: The Eyes that match the dress

This look mostly revolves around the eyes, you can do what ever else you want for this look. This is more of a last minute kind of eye look if you don’t really know what to do. If your dress is blue you can do an ombre blue eye look. This look is totally up to you and how you want to approach this eye look.

Look #2: The Photogenic Look

I recommend you use photogenic foundation, my favorite is from NYX but it is $17, if you can’t find or afford photogenic makeup, just try to find foundation that doesn’t have any SPF in it, because during your prom pictures you’ll get flash back and you don’t want that. I also recommend you avoid baking your face and avoid powder because that also causes flash back. However, if you want a glowy kind of look, use any kind of highlighter and apply a small amount on to your cheek bones, and also add some highlight to your arms so they look shiny (but not oily). Next, you just contour your cheeks like always using what ever bronzer/contour you want and if you want to, contour your arms so in your pictures they’ll look more muscular.

Look #3: The Nude Eyes

The final look for this entry- the safe look which is the nudes. Follow the same steps as Look #2 for the face, but for your eyelids, just apply some nude colors from your favorite nude palette, the shadows can be shimmery or matte, apply a nice thick wing to your eyeshadow, if you want to do something on your lower-lashline, I recommend you only use black eyeliner and do not use eyeshadow on the lower-lashline because in your pictures it can give the effect that you were crying and you definitely don’t want to cry on the night of prom.

There you guys go, my first and probably only prom entry. I hope you all have/had fun at prom! I hope you guys liked these look ideas, you can always use them for other events that involve pictures with flash being taken because you definitely don’t want flashback!

Why blending makeup is important!

Hi everyone,

Today I was struggling with a topic to write about then I remembered this incident. This incident occurred yesterday at school. Beforehand I did my nice matte makeup and felt so beautiful and felt so confident then my boyfriend pointed out that I didn’t blend it all in on the side of my face.

It wasn’t wet, but my skin tones were very uneven yesterday. I decided this was a good topic because I wanted to be somewhat educational for you guys, instead of doing the normal product reviews and tutorials. Of course I find this incident super funny because I probably have been doing this ever since I started makeup I just never noticed it! But shout out to my boyfriend (who does read these posts) for letting me know!

But to the point: Before you leave your house for work or school or your other daily activities, always make sure to fully blend everything in all the way, and make sure to put makeup on all of your face or else you will look like I did yesterday XD.

I am sorry for this post to be so short, but I hope you guys liked this story time.

My Favorite Makeup Products!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to today’s post. Happy May! I hope this month goes well for all of us! This is my final month of school meaning I will have the whole summer to blog away for you guys! Today I was at a loss for ideas so I decided to just show you my favorite makeup items at the moment and a short description as to why I like them.

Face:

NYX Photogenic HD Foundation

I really like this foundation because it feels light on my face and blends so smooth. My other liquid foundation blends chunky and is very obvious I have a ton of makeup on where this is so lightweight. However, this foundation gives me low-no coverage so keep that in mind.

E.L.F. Perfect Blend Concealer

This concealer covers so much and is only $2.00! This concealer fits my tone and it smells so good, like apricots. I ran out of it recently and have to stock up, it’s the best concealer I have had.

Eyes:

E.L.F. Eyeshadow Lock Primer

This dries quickly and keeps my shadow locked in place and doesn’t crease no matter how long my shadow is on.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

I waited so long to get this palette and I am so obsessed with how it looks. I have made countless looks with this palette and it is my favorite eyeshadow palette. I love that this palette has matching colors so if you’re in a rush you don’t have to figure out a whole new look.

Lips:

Estee Lauder Lipstick ‘Candy Shimmer’

I love that this color isn’t crazy dark and it can blend in to my natural lip color, I also like that this lipstick has some shimmer, it’s truly a pretty lip color.

Benefit Benetint Lip Stain

I like to wear this as an individual lipstick instead of using it over a lipstick to keep it on all day, some days when I don’t want to put lipstick on and have it smear on straws and cups, I will put this on to give a nice tint to my lip color and it makes them a little rosy.

Highlight and Contour:

E.L.F. Baked Highlighter ‘Moonlight Pearls’

This highlighter is such a pretty color and gives you a super natural glow. I love to put this on my cheeks, nose, cupid’s bow as well as on my brow bone using a small eyeshadow brush. I love that this highlighter is buildable depending on how much of a glow you want.

E.L.F. Baked Bronzer ‘Bora Bora’

I love that this is a mix of different bronzing colors and I love this gives a nice bronze to my forehead and cheeks. It doesn’t work super well as a contour but I use it to give me a nice natural bronze.

Ingrown Toenail Hacks That Work and Don’t Work

Hello everyone,

I know this is kind of an odd page because I usually write about beauty and fashion, But this is a fashion and lifestyle blog and I feel like I do need to cover this because a lot of people (myself included) struggle with Ingrown toenails.

For those of you who don’t know, an ingrown toenail is where the toenail grows into the skin, it’s a normal problem that a lot of people get by either wearing shoes that are too small, too tight of socks or cut their toenails incorrectly.

I get ingrown toenails only on my right big toe, and I’ve had some that are mild and some that are super painful. So I decided to share some tricks I have figured out myself as well as found on the internet. So here we go…

1.) Soak the foot/feet in warm water

This one might sound obvious, but it does help extremely. Make sure the water isn’t scolding, but make sure that the water is warm, this will soften the skin around the toe which will make it easier to push the skin back to cut the nail out. It also helps to put epsom salt in the bath with it.

You can buy epsom salt literally everywhere, even at the Dollar Store.

2.) The Cotton Trick

Because of my ingrown toenails getting severe, I personally have tried the trick and it is too painful for my liking. This is what you would do after you cut the nail out. You take a cotton ball and you rip it into somewhat smaller pieces, then you would put this behind the toenail that is still left, this would help the nail grow correctly.

3.) Tooth Pick/Floss

This is a helpful hack. Get either a toothpick or a flosser, but make sure the floss is the kind that is on a stick, and use the very tip of the floss or the tooth pick and gently stick it down the side of the toe that you had the ingrown toenail. This trick doesn’t do anything painful but it lets you know if you have nail far deep into the skin. (If this is the case, make sure to see your doctor or go to Urgent Care so you can get it professionally cut out.)

4.) Tea Tree Oil/Coconut Oil

After you cut the nail out, what I like to do and what helps the most for me is to put either Tea Tree Oil or Coconut Oil on the open part of the skin that the nail came out of. These oils help disinfect if you were to have an infection and it also takes the pain away.

So those are the 4 hacks that I have for you guys, I hope this post was helpful. If you do have an ingrown toenail and if it is inflamed, puffy or puss is coming out, make sure to go right away to a doctor or Urgent Care so you can get it professionally cut out, those are the signs that you might have an infection in your toe. My sister had an infection one time and went to the doctor and they sprayed cold spray to numb it and they just cut it out with like a pair of nail clippers, so it isn’t super bad.

Top 8 Best Dressed at the KCA’s 2017

Hey everyone,

Welcome to today’s post where I will be talking about some of the best dressed on the Orange Carpet at the Kid’s Choice Awards 2017!

For those of you who don’t know what the KCA’s are, it is an awards show that Nickelodeon hosts annually where kids can vote for their favorite shows, movie, actors and actresses, books, games and more! Now, let’s talk about some fashion!

1.) Maddie Ziegler

Maddie didn’t exactly wear a dress or anything super classy to the awards, but she wore a white shirt that had some colorful polka dots on it and wore high waisted pants that looked like blue fur. To add some class to the outfit, she wore red heels. She kept the accessories to a minimum by wearing a few rings and carried a small clutch bag. Her makeup had glam but also was kept casual.

2.) Gail Soltys

Gail kept it simpler than Maddie, by wearing a long sleeved ombre romper. It was lined on the body portion but was kept sheer on the sleeves. She matched the outfit with velvet purple heels. She had no accessories but wore a nice nude makeup.

3.) Mariah Carey

Mariah kept it very simple but also a little revealing, wearing a short navy blue dress with a zipper down the front. She kept the zipper up pretty high but enough to show some cleavage. She matched it with silver open toe heels and some simple but full coverage makeup and of course, some sunglasses.

4.) Demi Lovato

Actually a very nice outfit on Demi. She wore a salmon colored maxi dress but had a slit down the side of her leg and one cut out on the sides of her stomach. Still kept it classy and appropriate. She wore a black bracelet to match her lovely black hair and matched her dress with a salmon colored lipstick.

5.) Candace Cameron Bure

Candace definitely had the ‘most revealing’  outfit but also kept it very appropriate considering she was around kids the whole night. She wore a houndstooth printed dress that went up to about mid-thigh and also had one strap. She tied a strap around the body into a bow and wore some strappy heels to tie the look together. I think one of my favorite looks from the night so far.

6.) Little Mix

Little Mix always has something edgy to wear but also keeps it classy and appropriate for an awards show, nothing like Gaga’s meat dress amiright? I think only the girls from Little Mix can only pull off these looks.

  • Leigh-Anne wore a checkerboard pantsuit that also looked like it had color underneath the printed look. She wore open toe black heels.
  • Perrie (the blonde from the group) wore a holographic silver dress, matching it with a choker that looks like it’s made of the same material and wore black open toe  heels (very similar to Leigh-Anne’s).
  • Jade definitely kept it casual by wearing a pink crop top and high waisted pink shorts that matched and had a flowery design. She matched this look with a pink fur coat and white open toe heels.
  • Jesy wore the most formal outfit, wearing a maxi black dress with a white lace up section in the front. She wore strappy black wedges to complete the look.

7.) Zendaya

Zendaya always looks so beautiful whenever she’s shown on camera, but I am not super for this look she was going for. She wore a maxi metallic orange dress with gray velvet boots. She wore a longer black necklace and a white and silver choker. I included her in this list because she did look nice even though I personally didn’t like the outfit.

8.) Miranda Cosgrove

Miranda definitely showed that she outgrew her days on Nick, but definitely kept it appropriate. She wore a long sleeved floral mini dress. The dress itself was very colorful and kept her makeup simple while pulling her hair back into a ponytail.

I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post! Make sure to comment below and tell me who you thought was the best dressed at the KCA’s. Also make sure to like this post and subscribe to the blog if you haven’t already.
