My Favorite Makeup Products!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to today’s post. Happy May! I hope this month goes well for all of us! This is my final month of school meaning I will have the whole summer to blog away for you guys! Today I was at a loss for ideas so I decided to just show you my favorite makeup items at the moment and a short description as to why I like them.

Face:

NYX Photogenic HD Foundation

I really like this foundation because it feels light on my face and blends so smooth. My other liquid foundation blends chunky and is very obvious I have a ton of makeup on where this is so lightweight. However, this foundation gives me low-no coverage so keep that in mind.

E.L.F. Perfect Blend Concealer

This concealer covers so much and is only $2.00! This concealer fits my tone and it smells so good, like apricots. I ran out of it recently and have to stock up, it’s the best concealer I have had.

Eyes:

E.L.F. Eyeshadow Lock Primer

This dries quickly and keeps my shadow locked in place and doesn’t crease no matter how long my shadow is on.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

I waited so long to get this palette and I am so obsessed with how it looks. I have made countless looks with this palette and it is my favorite eyeshadow palette. I love that this palette has matching colors so if you’re in a rush you don’t have to figure out a whole new look.

Lips:

Estee Lauder Lipstick ‘Candy Shimmer’

I love that this color isn’t crazy dark and it can blend in to my natural lip color, I also like that this lipstick has some shimmer, it’s truly a pretty lip color.

Benefit Benetint Lip Stain

I like to wear this as an individual lipstick instead of using it over a lipstick to keep it on all day, some days when I don’t want to put lipstick on and have it smear on straws and cups, I will put this on to give a nice tint to my lip color and it makes them a little rosy.

Highlight and Contour:

E.L.F. Baked Highlighter ‘Moonlight Pearls’

This highlighter is such a pretty color and gives you a super natural glow. I love to put this on my cheeks, nose, cupid’s bow as well as on my brow bone using a small eyeshadow brush. I love that this highlighter is buildable depending on how much of a glow you want.

E.L.F. Baked Bronzer ‘Bora Bora’

I love that this is a mix of different bronzing colors and I love this gives a nice bronze to my forehead and cheeks. It doesn’t work super well as a contour but I use it to give me a nice natural bronze.

Review: ‘Earth Bomb’ from Da Bath Fizzers

Hello everyone,

I’m actually writing from the bath today because it’s a review on a bath bomb. And I think it’s my new obsession.

I got this bath bomb from Target titled ‘Earth Bomb.’ I’ve never heard of the brand before but at the same time I love it. I went on the company’s website and each bath bomb is about $6.50 which is almost the same cost as one from Lush.

I got the bath bombs from Target where they are half priced like $3 as their set price. I love that they have fun colors and they do actually fizz. Another bonus to the bombs is that each bomb has a toy or surprise inside.

I got a whale in my earth bomb because all the proceeds they’re donating to clean the world’s oceans which I find super amazing that they’re doing that. I have some other bombs from this company but I haven’t had the time to use them yet but I definitely will soon.

I think it also is so amazing that the founders of the company are two teenage girls, which is amazing and they’re so successful. Make sure to check their company out!

Birthday Haul

Hey everyone,

I have so much fun writing about beauty hauls and I also find myself having fun watching youtubers do haul videos-whether it be clothes or makeup, it’s just so fun. So I decided to write about this birthday haul. I am not trying to brag in any way, I just figured that maybe you guys will be entertained by it? Maybe? I don’t know, let’s get into it!

**I’m also listing the websites of where I got each item so you can check out those items also!***

1.) Pink Torn Shorts from Charlotte Russe

I love this store’s shorts because for me it is hard to find shorts that fit my figure and I don’t know if it’s just me but I hate when the waistbands of my pants are big to the point someone can stick something down them, I know it’s weird. So, I decided to get this pair of shorts because I don’t really own a lot of ripped shorts and I really like that style of shorts.

2.) Denim Shorts from Charlotte Russe

I really love denim shorts because of the fact that they go with any top of any style and design. I especially love refuge’s shorts because they’re soft and they fit me right.

3.) Chocolate Bon Bons Palette from Sephora

I went to the store in the mall and I saw this palette and I wanted it but also didn’t want to spend the money, but I decided why not? I slowly am escalating my makeup collection from drugstore products to higher brand products- but I am not ditching elf. I love this product because the colors are super fun and they have nude colors as well as some highlight colors and some fun vibrant colors. Not to mention the color smells like chocolate.

4.) Tarte’s Tartiest PRO Amazonian Clay Palette from Ulta

I got this palette as a birthday present from my parents. I might’ve mentioned this on the blog before, but I have been wanting this palette since I first got into makeup but I knew I would never get it because it is $53. The closer it got to my birthday the more hints I got from my mom that she was going to get it, but I played it cool. I watched videos on YouTube about this palette and a lot of beauty gurus hated this palette because ‘the colors smushed together’ but doesn’t any color do that anyways if you use too much of different colors? Well, I went to the Ulta store purposely to sample this product as well as some other face products and I used I think 3 different colors on my eye and I immediately loved it, and not because I had been wanting this palette for so long. I will go into more detail when I use this palette.

5.) Free Birthday Gift from Sephora!
Since I am a part of their email list, I got the exclusive offer to choose between a Tarte travel pack (that they give you) or another item from a brand I had never heard of before. So obviously I went for tarte because lately I have been obsessed with Tarte. In this gift I got a miniature matte lip paint which is named ‘birthday suit’ and a small blush called ‘parrty’ (I will post swatches on our Instagram @complicatedfashionblog) So, if anyone from Sephora is reading this blog, a big thank you to you for even having this offer, not a lot of stores do this and I think I actually do like Sephora a lot more.

Earthly Body Appreciation!

Hello everyone!

I think I have posted on this blog before that I am affiliated with an amazing project! It is this project trying to raise awareness for animal testing and abuse. The project has a instagram account as well as a GoFundMe page so I will post the links below if you want to check the project out and support it as well.

So because I am affiliated with this project, I felt like it was very necessary that I post about it because this is a fashion and beauty blog and animal testing does fall under that category. I know that using makeup that might test on animals is very hypocritical. Which is why I am trying to support this project, to help raise awareness.

Getting to the point, Earthly Body, a company that sells moisturizers, lip balms, makeup, etc. Sent us a bunch of goodies for free to use for our project to show peers that there is a company out there that embraces being animal cruelty-free which I think in today’s society is something very important.

This page itself is not sponsored, but our project is and I appreciate Earthly Body so much for taking time out of their busy day to send the project some amazing products. So shout out to them!

Two products I definitely have used and recommend to my readers are their miracle oil products. Their miracle oil itself helps relieve dry skin, as well as pain that can be located anywhere on the body.

Another product I recommend is their Miracle Oil Creme which is a creme that has tea tree oil in it as well as many other natural ingredients. Both product links are down below.

Just wanted to give this company some appreciation that they definitely deserve. Thank you Earthly Body for being a cruelty free company!

Recent Makeup Haul!

Hey guys!

What’s up? Today I want to write about a recent makeup haul that I went on this past weekend. I went to an e.l.f. store! E.l.f. is my favorite makeup brand because it’s super cheap and their makeup is good quality. I finally got the chance to go to the store rather than their section in Target.

I spent $16.00 there and that actually isn’t a lot when we’re talking about makeup. So in this post I just wanted to talk about these products and review them in case any of you guys are interested.

Product #1- Powder Brush

This brush works very well when I use my powder veil (finishing powder). It is super soft and is a lot easier to use than some expensive brushes. Elf does make a more expensive powder brush that I think might be more expensive, I have the cheaper one that is all black and it definitely does the job.

Product #2- Liquid Highlighter

I tested this product in store and it is very sparkly. I had recently used this product as part of my everday makeup look and it made more oil in it than the highlighting formula. Putting it on my face made my face look very oily and greasy and I didn’t like it. But, I will continue to give it a try.

Product #3- Highlighting Brush

I have been in need of a highlighter brush, I wanted to get one from Elf because it is a lot cheaper. I used it on my powder highlighter and I was so surprised by how well it works. The glitter comes right off the brush and onto my face. It didn’t get stuck in the bristles.

Product #4- Eyeshadow Palette

This eyeshadow palette is a nice addition to the collection. I got this because I needed more nude colors rather than fun bright colors. This palette actually tells you where to put it on your lids. In each color it has a word carved on it ‘base, lid, crease, line’ I found it very helpful because I usually only use one color on my eyes at a time. The colors are VERY pigmented. Make sure to blend well!

That is my haul! Make sure to check out e.l.f.’s website to check out their products and their amazing prices! I am very happy with their products and I always have so much fun using them!

Best Dressed at the SAG Awards!

Hello everyone,

I have been getting your comments and they are super sweet! I didn’t know I manually have to approve your comments, so I am sorry for the delay on that. It is amazing to see what you guys think of our blog, because it is still not to its fullest potential. I can’t wait to see this blog escalate the more I work on it. Now, to this post.

The SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild Awards) aired on television this past Sunday (1/29) and there were some really pretty dresses, and some who I thought weren’t the best. I am not trying to put anyone down or say the dresses were ugly because that’s not the point. I just want to point out the dresses I thought were beautiful.

  1. Kaley Cuoco

If you have a snapchat or instagram you might have seen this dress, it is a longer gown with little flaps hanging off the body of the gown. Kaley matched the gown with a necklace that looks like it’s the same material as her dress. She kept her hair pulled back but left a few strands loose. For her makeup she went with a nude lip and a strong smokey eye as well as a simple cheek contour.

2.  Millie Bobby Brown

Millie has been taking the world by storm because of her performance in the Netflix series ‘Stranger Things.’ Millie kept it simple with a sparkly headband and let her short hair down. She wore a red dress that went down to her feet and it had a few ruffles on the top. Being twelve years old she kept her makeup simple, using a nude eyeshadow and nude lip with a hint of blush.

3. Emma Stone

Emma wore a lacey black dress, with not a whole lot of stones, but enough to make the dress simple and classy. The dress was lined with a nude colored fabric underneath the black lace. Emma stuck with a lighter pink lipstick and a grayish-blue eyeshadow, which matched the dress very well.

4. Viola Davis

Viola wore a strapless white gown that had a slit that went up maybe to her knee. The gown was simple but it was tied together with a pearl necklace. Viola kept her hair down and kept it simple with her makeup.

5. Taraji P. Henson

Taraji wore a baby pink, and purple combo in her dress. Her dress had lace and a big cutout in the chest. She had appliques all over her dress. The dress went up to her neckline and had a small black bow before the cutout. Taraji wore baby pink shadow to match the tone of her dress with a light pink lipstick.

There you go! These are some of the best looks of the night! Comment and tell me if you want me to do the worst looks of the night! Thank you so much for commenting and saying sweet things. It makes me super happy to be writing this blog again.

Rclbeauty101: ‘Makeup Stereotypes’ Review

Hey guys!

As some of you know, I am a fan of YouTube Personality Rclbeauty101. Rachel was featured on this blog who knows how many times. Lately she’s been coming up with really clever videos including her famous DIYs. Just a few hours ago, Rachel came out with yet another genius video entitled ‘Makeup Stereotypes.’

This will be a new segment on the blog where I review beauty gurus videos from youtube and review them and give my opinion on them. I will also continue doing what I’ve been doing.

Now, in this video, Rachel starts off with doing some natural makeup, in her audio she constantly changes her mind on what to wear because she’s worried about what she might look like in the end result. As the video goes on, she sees many of her friends who tell her she’s wearing too much makeup and she should go all natural. One guy even compared her to a selfie of Kim Kardashian where she’s wearing a full face of makeup.

This video did send out an important message that most girls and boys need to understand. Not only that you can be beautiful with or without makeup but also makeup is a form of art and you should wear makeup only if you want to and not to just impress someone.

The thumbnail to this video is important. It isn’t something to just shock you, but it really does get the message across of the video. Not only is it about beauty itself but I took it as someone tries so hard to make themselves look good and they do actually hurt themselves while doing so. In the video, Rachel plucks her eyebrows and accidentally pokes her eye with mascara.

I feel like a lot of us do sometimes wear makeup to impress others, I definitely have. But, over time I just learned to experiment with my looks and I wear it for myself because it makes me feel more confident with myself. I think it’s not right for someone to tell another that it’s “not right” to wear makeup, or “you look better with makeup” because the applying process does take such a long time and girls and boys that do wear makeup need a break.

I love to wear makeup. I love to go shopping for makeup, I love trying makeup, and I love applying it on others as well. I do sometimes feel insecure with my face when I’m having a bad break-out. Concealer doesn’t make the acne go away but it takes the attention away from it.

Some people aren’t born with full eyebrows, so they have to draw-on their brows or fill them in. People judge them saying they have “sharpie eyebrows.” I personally don’t do my brows because I already have full eyebrows, but it’s not nice to judge someone because of their makeup.

Whoever reads this, if you wear makeup and you enjoy doing it; do it. If you haven’t started wearing makeup but you want to, do it, don’t listen to people who say that you shouldn’t. This post can be taken several different ways, I don’t mean to offend anybody, but wear makeup if you want to, if you don’t want to, don’t do it. Don’t listen to any negativity that you guys may or may not get about your flaws or makeup.

“Our imperfections is what makes us perfect.”

I’m sorry this turned into a rant, but thank you to my readers for listening and I hope you guys get inspired by my posts. I do work hard and I love the results this blog gets.
