My Favorite Makeup Products!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to today’s post. Happy May! I hope this month goes well for all of us! This is my final month of school meaning I will have the whole summer to blog away for you guys! Today I was at a loss for ideas so I decided to just show you my favorite makeup items at the moment and a short description as to why I like them.

NYX Photogenic HD Foundation

I really like this foundation because it feels light on my face and blends so smooth. My other liquid foundation blends chunky and is very obvious I have a ton of makeup on where this is so lightweight. However, this foundation gives me low-no coverage so keep that in mind.

E.L.F. Perfect Blend Concealer

This concealer covers so much and is only $2.00! This concealer fits my tone and it smells so good, like apricots. I ran out of it recently and have to stock up, it’s the best concealer I have had.

E.L.F. Eyeshadow Lock Primer

This dries quickly and keeps my shadow locked in place and doesn’t crease no matter how long my shadow is on.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

I waited so long to get this palette and I am so obsessed with how it looks. I have made countless looks with this palette and it is my favorite eyeshadow palette. I love that this palette has matching colors so if you’re in a rush you don’t have to figure out a whole new look.

Estee Lauder Lipstick ‘Candy Shimmer’

I love that this color isn’t crazy dark and it can blend in to my natural lip color, I also like that this lipstick has some shimmer, it’s truly a pretty lip color.

Benefit Benetint Lip Stain

I like to wear this as an individual lipstick instead of using it over a lipstick to keep it on all day, some days when I don’t want to put lipstick on and have it smear on straws and cups, I will put this on to give a nice tint to my lip color and it makes them a little rosy.

Highlight and Contour:

E.L.F. Baked Highlighter ‘Moonlight Pearls’

This highlighter is such a pretty color and gives you a super natural glow. I love to put this on my cheeks, nose, cupid’s bow as well as on my brow bone using a small eyeshadow brush. I love that this highlighter is buildable depending on how much of a glow you want.

E.L.F. Baked Bronzer ‘Bora Bora’

I love that this is a mix of different bronzing colors and I love this gives a nice bronze to my forehead and cheeks. It doesn’t work super well as a contour but I use it to give me a nice natural bronze.

Birthday Haul

Hey everyone,

I have so much fun writing about beauty hauls and I also find myself having fun watching youtubers do haul videos-whether it be clothes or makeup, it’s just so fun. So I decided to write about this birthday haul. I am not trying to brag in any way, I just figured that maybe you guys will be entertained by it? Maybe? I don’t know, let’s get into it!

**I’m also listing the websites of where I got each item so you can check out those items also!***

1.) Pink Torn Shorts from Charlotte Russe

I love this store’s shorts because for me it is hard to find shorts that fit my figure and I don’t know if it’s just me but I hate when the waistbands of my pants are big to the point someone can stick something down them, I know it’s weird. So, I decided to get this pair of shorts because I don’t really own a lot of ripped shorts and I really like that style of shorts.

2.) Denim Shorts from Charlotte Russe

I really love denim shorts because of the fact that they go with any top of any style and design. I especially love refuge’s shorts because they’re soft and they fit me right.

3.) Chocolate Bon Bons Palette from Sephora

I went to the store in the mall and I saw this palette and I wanted it but also didn’t want to spend the money, but I decided why not? I slowly am escalating my makeup collection from drugstore products to higher brand products- but I am not ditching elf. I love this product because the colors are super fun and they have nude colors as well as some highlight colors and some fun vibrant colors. Not to mention the color smells like chocolate.

4.) Tarte’s Tartiest PRO Amazonian Clay Palette from Ulta

I got this palette as a birthday present from my parents. I might’ve mentioned this on the blog before, but I have been wanting this palette since I first got into makeup but I knew I would never get it because it is $53. The closer it got to my birthday the more hints I got from my mom that she was going to get it, but I played it cool. I watched videos on YouTube about this palette and a lot of beauty gurus hated this palette because ‘the colors smushed together’ but doesn’t any color do that anyways if you use too much of different colors? Well, I went to the Ulta store purposely to sample this product as well as some other face products and I used I think 3 different colors on my eye and I immediately loved it, and not because I had been wanting this palette for so long. I will go into more detail when I use this palette.

5.) Free Birthday Gift from Sephora!
Since I am a part of their email list, I got the exclusive offer to choose between a Tarte travel pack (that they give you) or another item from a brand I had never heard of before. So obviously I went for tarte because lately I have been obsessed with Tarte. In this gift I got a miniature matte lip paint which is named ‘birthday suit’ and a small blush called ‘parrty’ (I will post swatches on our Instagram @complicatedfashionblog) So, if anyone from Sephora is reading this blog, a big thank you to you for even having this offer, not a lot of stores do this and I think I actually do like Sephora a lot more.

Earthly Body Appreciation!

Hello everyone!

I think I have posted on this blog before that I am affiliated with an amazing project! It is this project trying to raise awareness for animal testing and abuse. The project has a instagram account as well as a GoFundMe page so I will post the links below if you want to check the project out and support it as well.

So because I am affiliated with this project, I felt like it was very necessary that I post about it because this is a fashion and beauty blog and animal testing does fall under that category. I know that using makeup that might test on animals is very hypocritical. Which is why I am trying to support this project, to help raise awareness.

Getting to the point, Earthly Body, a company that sells moisturizers, lip balms, makeup, etc. Sent us a bunch of goodies for free to use for our project to show peers that there is a company out there that embraces being animal cruelty-free which I think in today’s society is something very important.

This page itself is not sponsored, but our project is and I appreciate Earthly Body so much for taking time out of their busy day to send the project some amazing products. So shout out to them!

Two products I definitely have used and recommend to my readers are their miracle oil products. Their miracle oil itself helps relieve dry skin, as well as pain that can be located anywhere on the body.

Another product I recommend is their Miracle Oil Creme which is a creme that has tea tree oil in it as well as many other natural ingredients. Both product links are down below.

Just wanted to give this company some appreciation that they definitely deserve. Thank you Earthly Body for being a cruelty free company!

Recent Makeup Haul!

Hey guys!

What’s up? Today I want to write about a recent makeup haul that I went on this past weekend. I went to an e.l.f. store! E.l.f. is my favorite makeup brand because it’s super cheap and their makeup is good quality. I finally got the chance to go to the store rather than their section in Target.

I spent $16.00 there and that actually isn’t a lot when we’re talking about makeup. So in this post I just wanted to talk about these products and review them in case any of you guys are interested.

Product #1- Powder Brush

This brush works very well when I use my powder veil (finishing powder). It is super soft and is a lot easier to use than some expensive brushes. Elf does make a more expensive powder brush that I think might be more expensive, I have the cheaper one that is all black and it definitely does the job.

Product #2- Liquid Highlighter

I tested this product in store and it is very sparkly. I had recently used this product as part of my everday makeup look and it made more oil in it than the highlighting formula. Putting it on my face made my face look very oily and greasy and I didn’t like it. But, I will continue to give it a try.

Product #3- Highlighting Brush

I have been in need of a highlighter brush, I wanted to get one from Elf because it is a lot cheaper. I used it on my powder highlighter and I was so surprised by how well it works. The glitter comes right off the brush and onto my face. It didn’t get stuck in the bristles.

Product #4- Eyeshadow Palette

This eyeshadow palette is a nice addition to the collection. I got this because I needed more nude colors rather than fun bright colors. This palette actually tells you where to put it on your lids. In each color it has a word carved on it ‘base, lid, crease, line’ I found it very helpful because I usually only use one color on my eyes at a time. The colors are VERY pigmented. Make sure to blend well!

That is my haul! Make sure to check out e.l.f.’s website to check out their products and their amazing prices! I am very happy with their products and I always have so much fun using them!

Fall Must Haves!

Ah, yes, it’s the time for fall which means Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks, comfortable flannels, fireplaces and of course halloween. Fall fashion ranges all over the fashion scale, some people don’t want to let go of the summer and wear the summery type clothing while most of us want to embrace this season and let go of the summer heat.

After scrolling through the internet and finding multiple fall-themed products that I feel like I must have this season, I decided to come back to this blog with a nice list of products I want, and maybe you want too.

Some products come from Lush, from Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and whatever else comes to my mind. You’re welcome.

1.) Pumpkin Bath Bomb from Lush

I don’t get bath bombs very often because first of all they’re always so expensive! I hope to go on a big fall shopping spree in which I can get a majority of Lush’s best sellers and this badass looking bomb.

2.) Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb from Lush

I feel like maybe the last bath bomb was too halloween-y and maybe some of you readers didn’t really want halloween products on this list. This bath bomb however has a mix of all Fall colors such as green, yellow, red and orange and in the shape of a leaf- how festive!

3.) Hooded Flannel Shirt from Forever 21

Flannels are probably the most comfortable things ever. I have two flannels both from Forever 21 and they are so comfortable! I love that most clothing manufactures are choosing more olive green this year as our fall color. Such a wonderful color spectrum this year.

4.) Lace Cropped Cami from Forever 21

Another cute contemporary product from Forever 21. These products are so comfortable and cropped camis are another popular trend this year alone. Even though the weather is sadly cooling down, you can wear this and a big flannel over it with a pair of washed jeans.

5.) Tiered Crochet Skirt

Skirts may not be a summer thing, depending on the skirt, color and style. If people can wear shorts and dresses and rompers, why not wear a nice looking skirt?

What really is beauty?

I see this question all the time on social media and in stories, I also see people ask others, this one question. “What really is beauty?” Maybe, when I’m done with this rant, I will clear this up with an answer.

Beauty has a meaning within itself, and I personally think it has many different meanings. You hear a lot “brains and beauty” when really, brains is beauty. That statement really is invalid. Beauty can mean nerdy, sporty, and the other “obvious” meanings. Beauty really doesn’t have it’s own proper definition, at least not in my book.

I don’t know where this rant will lead, but hopefully it would not bring a clear definition of beauty, but it would bring new ideas and thoughts to you, my readers. I want you all to not think the way society is making us. I want us all to go against society. Maybe no one will see this, and this entry will still have 0 reads, or whatever.

I want us to go against society, I want us to think of our own individual definitions of beauty and beautiful. Society thinks the real beauty are thin girls who wear makeup, but what about the guys? What about the “plus size” people?

Earlier this year, I heard about Victoria’s Secret, they fired one of their models for wearing 103 pounds and she wasn’t fat at all. But, they are fixed on super thin girls because they show them in fashion shows, on tv and on online catalogues.

Now, I don’t know if it’s a made up story or if it’s the real thing, but I think it supports my idea. I don’t want society to be the way it’s going. I want our generation to be different from the generations before us and change the path for the future youth.

Thank you for reading this, I know this isn’t a fashion post, but it does have to do with fashion as it’s about beauty. Your own kind of beauty.
