Why blending makeup is important!

Hi everyone,

Today I was struggling with a topic to write about then I remembered this incident. This incident occurred yesterday at school. Beforehand I did my nice matte makeup and felt so beautiful and felt so confident then my boyfriend pointed out that I didn’t blend it all in on the side of my face.

It wasn’t wet, but my skin tones were very uneven yesterday. I decided this was a good topic because I wanted to be somewhat educational for you guys, instead of doing the normal product reviews and tutorials. Of course I find this incident super funny because I probably have been doing this ever since I started makeup I just never noticed it! But shout out to my boyfriend (who does read these posts) for letting me know!

But to the point: Before you leave your house for work or school or your other daily activities, always make sure to fully blend everything in all the way, and make sure to put makeup on all of your face or else you will look like I did yesterday XD.

I am sorry for this post to be so short, but I hope you guys liked this story time.

My Favorite Makeup Products!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to today’s post. Happy May! I hope this month goes well for all of us! This is my final month of school meaning I will have the whole summer to blog away for you guys! Today I was at a loss for ideas so I decided to just show you my favorite makeup items at the moment and a short description as to why I like them.

Face:

NYX Photogenic HD Foundation

I really like this foundation because it feels light on my face and blends so smooth. My other liquid foundation blends chunky and is very obvious I have a ton of makeup on where this is so lightweight. However, this foundation gives me low-no coverage so keep that in mind.

E.L.F. Perfect Blend Concealer

This concealer covers so much and is only $2.00! This concealer fits my tone and it smells so good, like apricots. I ran out of it recently and have to stock up, it’s the best concealer I have had.

Eyes:

E.L.F. Eyeshadow Lock Primer

This dries quickly and keeps my shadow locked in place and doesn’t crease no matter how long my shadow is on.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

I waited so long to get this palette and I am so obsessed with how it looks. I have made countless looks with this palette and it is my favorite eyeshadow palette. I love that this palette has matching colors so if you’re in a rush you don’t have to figure out a whole new look.

Lips:

Estee Lauder Lipstick ‘Candy Shimmer’

I love that this color isn’t crazy dark and it can blend in to my natural lip color, I also like that this lipstick has some shimmer, it’s truly a pretty lip color.

Benefit Benetint Lip Stain

I like to wear this as an individual lipstick instead of using it over a lipstick to keep it on all day, some days when I don’t want to put lipstick on and have it smear on straws and cups, I will put this on to give a nice tint to my lip color and it makes them a little rosy.

Highlight and Contour:

E.L.F. Baked Highlighter ‘Moonlight Pearls’

This highlighter is such a pretty color and gives you a super natural glow. I love to put this on my cheeks, nose, cupid’s bow as well as on my brow bone using a small eyeshadow brush. I love that this highlighter is buildable depending on how much of a glow you want.

E.L.F. Baked Bronzer ‘Bora Bora’

I love that this is a mix of different bronzing colors and I love this gives a nice bronze to my forehead and cheeks. It doesn’t work super well as a contour but I use it to give me a nice natural bronze.

Review: ‘Earth Bomb’ from Da Bath Fizzers

Hello everyone,

I’m actually writing from the bath today because it’s a review on a bath bomb. And I think it’s my new obsession.

I got this bath bomb from Target titled ‘Earth Bomb.’ I’ve never heard of the brand before but at the same time I love it. I went on the company’s website and each bath bomb is about $6.50 which is almost the same cost as one from Lush.

I got the bath bombs from Target where they are half priced like $3 as their set price. I love that they have fun colors and they do actually fizz. Another bonus to the bombs is that each bomb has a toy or surprise inside.

I got a whale in my earth bomb because all the proceeds they’re donating to clean the world’s oceans which I find super amazing that they’re doing that. I have some other bombs from this company but I haven’t had the time to use them yet but I definitely will soon.

I think it also is so amazing that the founders of the company are two teenage girls, which is amazing and they’re so successful. Make sure to check their company out!

Birthday Haul

Hey everyone,

I have so much fun writing about beauty hauls and I also find myself having fun watching youtubers do haul videos-whether it be clothes or makeup, it’s just so fun. So I decided to write about this birthday haul. I am not trying to brag in any way, I just figured that maybe you guys will be entertained by it? Maybe? I don’t know, let’s get into it!

**I’m also listing the websites of where I got each item so you can check out those items also!***

1.) Pink Torn Shorts from Charlotte Russe

I love this store’s shorts because for me it is hard to find shorts that fit my figure and I don’t know if it’s just me but I hate when the waistbands of my pants are big to the point someone can stick something down them, I know it’s weird. So, I decided to get this pair of shorts because I don’t really own a lot of ripped shorts and I really like that style of shorts.

2.) Denim Shorts from Charlotte Russe

I really love denim shorts because of the fact that they go with any top of any style and design. I especially love refuge’s shorts because they’re soft and they fit me right.

3.) Chocolate Bon Bons Palette from Sephora

I went to the store in the mall and I saw this palette and I wanted it but also didn’t want to spend the money, but I decided why not? I slowly am escalating my makeup collection from drugstore products to higher brand products- but I am not ditching elf. I love this product because the colors are super fun and they have nude colors as well as some highlight colors and some fun vibrant colors. Not to mention the color smells like chocolate.

4.) Tarte’s Tartiest PRO Amazonian Clay Palette from Ulta

I got this palette as a birthday present from my parents. I might’ve mentioned this on the blog before, but I have been wanting this palette since I first got into makeup but I knew I would never get it because it is $53. The closer it got to my birthday the more hints I got from my mom that she was going to get it, but I played it cool. I watched videos on YouTube about this palette and a lot of beauty gurus hated this palette because ‘the colors smushed together’ but doesn’t any color do that anyways if you use too much of different colors? Well, I went to the Ulta store purposely to sample this product as well as some other face products and I used I think 3 different colors on my eye and I immediately loved it, and not because I had been wanting this palette for so long. I will go into more detail when I use this palette.

5.) Free Birthday Gift from Sephora!
Since I am a part of their email list, I got the exclusive offer to choose between a Tarte travel pack (that they give you) or another item from a brand I had never heard of before. So obviously I went for tarte because lately I have been obsessed with Tarte. In this gift I got a miniature matte lip paint which is named ‘birthday suit’ and a small blush called ‘parrty’ (I will post swatches on our Instagram @complicatedfashionblog) So, if anyone from Sephora is reading this blog, a big thank you to you for even having this offer, not a lot of stores do this and I think I actually do like Sephora a lot more.

Recent Beauty Haul!

Hi everyone,

I hope you all understand my schedule situation. This post is coming out today because  I just wanted to talk about each of the items I got on this haul. I do like every product that I had bought. **Note that this page is not sponsored by any of the companies mentioned.

I hope you enjoy!

1.) L.A. Colors 6 Color Eyeshadow- Almost Nude

I got this product at the dollar store, I know right? I am a cheap shopper, but I do have this palette but in a different color and those colors work very well and is super pigmented. I used the hot pink color for my Harley Quinn makeup. This is a new color that just recently came out and I wanted to try it for you guys. There are all different nude colors with a sponge applicator wand that is double sided and can be really useful for drawing designs on your face.

2. L.A. Colors Trio Eyeshadow- Water Lily

This palette caught my eye because it has a teal-green color with a pink and a light blue. I have another palette also that has pink, lime green and a blue that I use for costume makeup and it has a flower printed on the top. I have not used this palette yet but I am excited because I do love to wear fun colored shadows.

3.) L.A. Colors Trio Eyeshadow- Iris

I love the color combination for this trio which is a purple, pink and blue. I have not used this palette yet but I believe the pink in this palette is the same as the palette I have used which is a nice tone pink, it’s similar to a magenta color but it is a little lighter and has some glitter, but not too much which I do like. I will most likely use this product for costume makeup.

4.) Peace Rose Oil Sensitive Skin Mud Mask- Shea Moisture

I have not used this mask yet but I do have a good feeling about it. This mud mask I believe was from target but it was a gift to me from another family member. I have never used a mask before but I hope it does work out very well for me.

5.) Charcoal Paper Mask- Yes To

Again, a mask but I haven’t tried it yet. I have heard from users though that this is a good mask and does help clear the face up. I do have blackheads on my nose and cheeks and I do want those to be gone. I hope I can use this mask soon!

6.) African Black Soap Mud Mask- Shea Moisture

The final mask, I promise! I haven’t used this yet, but I am thinking of this being my first mask that I try because I have used the facial wipes that are from Shea Moisture and is African Black Soap and it has cleaned my face well and got some remaining makeup off of it which is good too.

7.) Prep and Hydrate Balm- e.l.f. cosmetics

This is the first skin care product that I had bought from elf and I definitely like it. I use it as a substitute for primer and I really like how it feels on my skin. I do wish that there was a little more product though due to the cost of $8.

8.) Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths (2 Pack)- Elf Cosmetics

I bought this because I bought a single pack for $3 and this two pack was only two dollars more and you get double the amount. I thought it would be a better buy. Usually I use one wipe to take off my entire face of makeup.

9.) Blending Eye Brush- Elf Cosmetics

I accidentally bought this thinking it was a regular eyeshadow brush, but it does work as both a blending brush and just a plain old eyeshadow brush. It applies color just the same and the bristles are really soft.

10.) Smudge Brush- Elf Cosmetics

Again, I use this as a regular eyeshadow brush, though I think this is for smudging eyeliner. It does work as a regular eyeshadow brush though.

11.) Essential Lipstick- Nostalgic- Elf Cosmetics

I was in need of a nude color lipstick. I had bright red, bright pink, velvet red and pink and wanted a color made for a natural look because I don’t want to wear bright colors everyday. It goes on super easy with a ton of color the first wipe on.

12.) Essential Lip Stain- Crimson Crush- Elf Cosmetics

This lip stain is super strong. I thought the color would be very faint but instead it’s very strong and bold. I usually wear lip stain as a substitute for lipstick because that way the color stays on all day and doesn’t really come off on anything where lipstick comes off easily.

13.) Essential Lip Stain- Nude Nectar- Elf Cosmetics

Still is super bold. It’s almost the exact same opinion as the lip stain for the Crimson Crush lip stain. I do like both colors though.

14.) Baked Highlighter- Blush Gems- Elf Cosmetics

I have a highlighter in the color ‘Moonlight Pearls’ and I really love it. I’ve noticed that the first layer of the dome-shaped product is very faint so once you wear the product down a slight bit, the shine and the color shows up way more than it did previously. I have not tried this particular color yet as I want to finish my highlighter that I already use, but I am excited for this highlighter use.

15.) Clay Eyeshadow Palette- Seaside Sweetie- Elf Cosmetics

I really like this palette. The packaging was very basic, but inside it has a mirror as well as 5 pigmented colors. I love how it came with a plastic sheet that tells you where to put each of the colors. However with me I use a color for the lid and a color for the crease and sometimes I highlight my brow, depending on how classy I want to get. I do love the colors and think this palette is actually very beautiful. Great addition to my collection, for sure.

16.) Under eye Concealer and Highlighter- Glow/Fair- Elf Cosmetics

I decided because it is cheaper I would just give it a whirl. I really like it. I use this after I do my face makeup but before I start my eyeshadow. I like how it is my color tone and it blends super well. One thing I have noticed though is that you should let it settle before using your beauty blender because maybe I’m just using it wrong but when I put it on my bags and dark circles, I feel like it doesn’t cover that much, it just looks like it has a little coverage. But that could be me just not using it correctly. I have never used an under eye concealer before.

That is my blog entry, thank you so much for reading. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I hope you like this blog. I have been working super hard to get this blog to be the best it can be. But it still will take time.
