Children’s Highlighting Powder from Justice containing toxic metals? WTF!

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to my blog, I just decided to write my thoughts about a topic in the news right now, girls clothing store Justice, is currently under fire because of their highlighting powder formula containing asbestos! For those of you who don’t know, asbestos is mostly found in soils and rocks, but they can cause lung diseases as well as tumors and and other types of cancers.

I’ve read somewhere that this formula also contained toxic metals. I don’t know how true those articles are, but right now Justice is yanking all of the makeup items off of their shelves to properly be tested and cleared of any harmful ingredients!

I feel like I should post this because if there’s any aspiring beauty gurus who wanted to film a ‘full face of kids’ makeup video, just steer away from Justice, you can try Toys R Us, Amazon or Claire’s. I personally am super shocked to hear this news because when I was young, I used to shop at Justice. But, at the time they didn’t sell makeup, they sold clothes and maybe lotion.

What do you all think of this shocking headline? Tell me in the comments!

Lush Cosmetics: Twilight Review

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to my blog, I’m writing my first draft (which is what you’ll probably see) in my bath tub because I’m reviewing this bath bomb, this is my first impression!

I got this bath bomb, ‘twilight’ and I really thought it would be super cool, which it is. It started off baby pink, but soon it turned a dark purple, and the finished water doesn’t end the same as usual Lush bath products, you can still see through the water, usually the color is so rich you don’t even see through it.

It does take a long time to get the bomb to fully dissolve too, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, some bath bombs dissolve after five minutes, this took like 20 minutes to dissolve. The bath bomb does smell really good, but this is definitely unique for lush as it differs significantly from lush’s other bath bombs.
Overall, I have mixed feelings. Maybe I just got the weaker one of the batch. Or maybe it’s just something I have to expect when using other bath bombs I have never used before. I do recommend though, despite my expectations and experiences.

If any of you have used this product before and you’ve had other opinions or experiences, feel free to comment them, to give fellow readers other insight of what this product can be!

P.s. I decided to add this in after I got out of the bath and looked at my feet and bath tub and there is a ton of glitter, I didn’t know there was any until I got out, so if you don’t like glitter residue on your body or tub, don’t use this product!

How to fix a broken nail!

Hey guys,

Today I decided to write about this one hack I saw online that can help you with any occasion. I decided to write about broken nails because lately it’s been a trend to wear acrylic nails, so I figured it’ll be helpful for you guys to know about this hack.

Broken Fingernail? Follow these steps!

  • Medium fine buffer the nail that is broken, do not rip the broken part off!
  • Take some regular nail glue and apply some right around and on the tear.
  • Next, just take a tiny piece of mesh or other stretchy material and use a tweezer to apply it on top of the tear.
  • Using the tweezers, apply the material on top of the glue which should be on top of the tear.
  • Apply more nail glue on top of the material, don’t be afraid of using too much.
  • After the glue is dried completely, buff the material into shape with your fingernail.
  • Next, using the same file you’ve been using to buff, file down the edges of your nail that may be sharp.
  • Gently buff the material more until it starts to be smooth.
  • The piece should be totally smooth and if it isn’t keep buffing it.
  • After you’re done buffering, rinse the finger gently to help remove nail shavings that may be stuck in the material.
  • Add a layer of nail glue on top and let it air dry.
  • Buffer everything smooth and let the nail glue dry.
  • After everything’s dry you’re safe to apply the top coat of nail polish and then paint them like always and no one will be able to know that your nail broke!

It is a short post today, I am sorry about that! I hope you guys do find this helpful. Make sure to give this post a big like and comment if you have any suggestions for future posts. Ingrown Toenail Hacks That Work and Don’t Work

Hello everyone,

I know this is kind of an odd page because I usually write about beauty and fashion, But this is a fashion and lifestyle blog and I feel like I do need to cover this because a lot of people (myself included) struggle with Ingrown toenails.

For those of you who don’t know, an ingrown toenail is where the toenail grows into the skin, it’s a normal problem that a lot of people get by either wearing shoes that are too small, too tight of socks or cut their toenails incorrectly.

I get ingrown toenails only on my right big toe, and I’ve had some that are mild and some that are super painful. So I decided to share some tricks I have figured out myself as well as found on the internet. So here we go…

1.) Soak the foot/feet in warm water

This one might sound obvious, but it does help extremely. Make sure the water isn’t scolding, but make sure that the water is warm, this will soften the skin around the toe which will make it easier to push the skin back to cut the nail out. It also helps to put epsom salt in the bath with it.

You can buy epsom salt literally everywhere, even at the Dollar Store.

2.) The Cotton Trick

Because of my ingrown toenails getting severe, I personally have tried the trick and it is too painful for my liking. This is what you would do after you cut the nail out. You take a cotton ball and you rip it into somewhat smaller pieces, then you would put this behind the toenail that is still left, this would help the nail grow correctly.

3.) Tooth Pick/Floss

This is a helpful hack. Get either a toothpick or a flosser, but make sure the floss is the kind that is on a stick, and use the very tip of the floss or the tooth pick and gently stick it down the side of the toe that you had the ingrown toenail. This trick doesn’t do anything painful but it lets you know if you have nail far deep into the skin. (If this is the case, make sure to see your doctor or go to Urgent Care so you can get it professionally cut out.)

4.) Tea Tree Oil/Coconut Oil

After you cut the nail out, what I like to do and what helps the most for me is to put either Tea Tree Oil or Coconut Oil on the open part of the skin that the nail came out of. These oils help disinfect if you were to have an infection and it also takes the pain away.

So those are the 4 hacks that I have for you guys, I hope this post was helpful. If you do have an ingrown toenail and if it is inflamed, puffy or puss is coming out, make sure to go right away to a doctor or Urgent Care so you can get it professionally cut out, those are the signs that you might have an infection in your toe. My sister had an infection one time and went to the doctor and they sprayed cold spray to numb it and they just cut it out with like a pair of nail clippers, so it isn’t super bad.
