DIY Lancome Rose Blush Highlighter

Hi everyone,

I told you I got a lot of ideas for DIYs, this one was inspired by YouTube. I love watching fellow beauty gurus on YouTube review new products and test viral products. This product went viral and after watching the videos about this product, I understand why.

For those of you who don’t know what this product is, it’s a blush highlight, which means it’s a highlighter but it has a pinkish pigment which can give you a blush look, and it’s known for the pink rose in the center. When I first saw this product, I immediately assumed the rose was the product, and kept thinking ‘wow this product is too pretty to use!” Well I thought wrong…

This product has highlight formula on the flower petals and from the weight of the product it definitely doesn’t have a lot of it. The price is also $60, I got this idea from YouTuber Nicole Skyes who I love watching, her video will be below if you guys want to check her channel out.

In this DIY you will be learning how to make your own, inexpensive rose highlighter.

Materials:

  • 1 Bowl to put the finished product in, it can be any size and any color.
  • 1 fake rose or flower, you can get this at any craft store (even the dollar store!)
  • Makeup setting spray (can be any brand you want)
  • Inexpensive highlighter(s)
  • 1 paint brush, any size
  • 1 bowl to hold the product in while you prepare the rose
  1. First you’re going to take a fork or knife and scrape out the highlight product out of its original container and into a bowl. You can use how ever many highlighters that you want.
  2. Put the flower into the bowl for the finished product, you can hot glue it if you want or you can just place the flower in depending on the size of the flower and bowl.
  3. Next you’re going to take your flower and spray each petal with makeup setting spray, this will keep the highlight product onto the petals.
  4. Take your paint brush and dip it into the bowl of highlight and start to paint it on to the petal you just coated in setting spray.
  5. Repeat steps 2-3 until the entire flower is coated in setting spray and highlight.
  6. Try it out for yourself!

I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial, it is very simple and also very genius. I’m sure you guys can make a bunch of these using different powder products, of course use the inexpensive makeup so you’re not destroying name brand products. Also, it is great to save the empty containers of product for another DIY so you don’t have to go out and buy a small product when you can just re-use and recycle!

Review: The Sili-sponge

Hi everyone,

Welcome to this blog, I realized I didn’t already review this product and I think this post is very overdue.

I don’t have the exact sili-sponge but I found a cheaper version of the sponge on Amazon for $4. This sponge looks exactly like the real deal and it does an amazing job at blending.

The company that makes the real sponge says it blends so well that you don’t use as much product as you would with a brush or beauty blender and I think I use very similar amounts if not the same.

This product spreads the product around but it does blend so well. I always like to take my beauty blender to clean up any foundation that might not have been blended in all the way which was never the case.

I have noticed though that this sponge definitely does not blend well with concealer, I don’t know why that is, but maybe for different concealers than I have it’ll work better.

Now, I like that this sponge is soft and can fit in compact spaces in a makeup bag, it isn’t too big and definitely not small. I do have the clear one which is more like the original but if you look at them on amazon they do come in different colors now. Also I like that very little product shows up on the sponge which means you aren’t wasting as much product and it is super easy to clean.

I did learn of this product from Instagram as well as Jeffree Star on YouTube I’ll post all the links below.

I hope this post is informative and helps you guys out if any of you really wanted to know about this product.

DIY Glitter Lipstick

Hi everyone,

I decided to do more DIY posts because there always new ideas in my brain. Lately the trend is to wear different colored lipsticks and glittery everything. Combining those two ideas I came up with this DIY.

This craft is super easy and simple. The things you will need:

  • A brand new EOS lip balm- can be any flavor, but preferably use their traditional lip balm (the egg shaped ones)
  • Mixing bowl (any size)
  • Lipstick (don’t use a high-end brand one, just go to the dollar store and pick one out)
  • Loose glitter
  • Pressed glitter
  • A spoon or spatula to mix it with
  1. The first thing you’re going to do is take a knife or a fork and scrape the EOS lip balm product out and into a bowl. Please try to get all of the product, this way the container can be usable for your new product.
  2. Next take 1/3 of the lip balm out of the bowl and you can save it and put it in a smaller container so it doesn’t go to waste.
  3. Take your lipstick (can be any color) and push the product all the way out and take a knife or a fork and cut the product and drop it into the bowl.
  4. Add the desired amount of loose glitter.
  5. Add the desired amount of pressed glitter.
  6. Then start mixing the product together, once it becomes a paste, put the bowl into the microwave for maybe 10 seconds.
  7. Once it is out it should be in a liquid state.
  8. Next, take your empty eos container and flip the center piece (the center piece looks like a wheel).
  9. Next carefully scoop/pour the new product into the old eos container and clean up the edges using a Q-Tip. Note that this will not look dome shaped until after the refrigerator process.
  10. Take the container and put into the fridge for about an hour, you can leave it in longer.
  11. Once it is after the desired amount of time it is ready for use!

I hope you guys like this tutorial, If you did make sure to like this post! How to tell if makeup is fake on eBay!

Hello everyone,

This idea came to me while I was soaking my toe. I have seen my share of beauty gurus on YouTube reacting to fake makeup they bought on eBay as well as comparing the fake products to the real products.

I think that this post is just a guide for my readers to use for when you go through eBay, I haven’t bought makeup from eBay, and if I have it was too long I can’t remember. But, you do need to be careful while scrolling among brands that do have fakes out there, some including MAC, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Bobbi Brown, Kylie Cosmetics, and more. It does help to have your product you’re looking for online near you or keep a window open on your computer on the real website so you can compare. Because, all you need is to compare at this, now let’s get started!

MAC Eyeshadow Quads

Real:

  • No applicators included
  • Has a clear top

Fake:

  • Comes with applicators
  • Black top of packaging
  • The box doesn’t look the same as the real product.

MAC Eyeshadow Palette

Real:

  • No applicators included
  • Has the signature MAC font (check their website)

Fake:

  • Comes with eyeshadow
  • Fake MAC font
  • Has nudes and blue color in palette

MAC Eyeshadow Singles

Real:

  • Comes in boxes
  • Does have bright colors

Fake:

  • Comes in bright colors
  • Doesn’t come in boxes
  • Green color isn’t right
  • Seller has hundreds ready to sell

** helps to compare from ebay and the MAC website***

MAC Palette

Real:

  • Doesn’t have colorful and brown and black colors packaged together.
  • No eyeshadow brush/applicators
  • No 12 pan palettes (especially cream eyeshadows)

Fake:

  • Comes in a 12 pan palette
  • Comes with cream shadows
  • Has pinks, blues, purple, green, white, gray, brown and black in one package
  • Comes with a eyeshadow applicator
  • Incorrect boxing

NARS Shadow Duo:

Real:

  • Shadows are placed in metal containers but they don’t show in packaging as much as fakes.

Fake:

  • Shadows are placed in metal containers but they show more in the fake product.

NARS Liquid Eyeliner:

Real:

  • Comes in a clear bottle
  • Boxy packaging

Fake:

  • Black bottle
  • Cylindric packaging

NARS Brush

Real:

  • Nars doesn’t make a retractable powder brush

Fake:

  • Makes retractable powder brushes
  • Brushes don’t look realistic

MAC Brushes

Real:

  • Have a slight shine on the handles
  • More matte handles

Fake:

  • More shiny
  • Has a roll up container for brushes

Bobbi Brown Brush Set

Real:

  • The logo is imprinted into the bag.
  • Logo is bolder than fakes
  • The real brush is more oval shaped (fake brushes look more like a kabuki)

Fake:

  • The bag looks totally different.
  • The brush is a small kabuki brush.
  • No logo is imprinted into the bag.

These are just some things to look out for when shopping for makeup on eBay. This post wasn’t to tell you to not shop on ebay for makeup but to just pay more attention to the products. It always helps to look at the feedback that the product gets. Like I did suggest at the beginning, when shopping for the products, make sure to compare the ‘fake’ product to the real deal.

Also, there are way more fake products out there than what I mentioned, and no way am I saying that every makeup product on ebay is fake because there are a good amount of people selling real deal products. This problem also doesn’t just happen on eBay, some discount apps do sell fake versions of our favorite brands, so just be aware.

I hope this page helps you guys in some way, make sure to like this post and share it on social media because I want your friends and family and followers to be aware too because sometimes there are bad chemicals in fake products and it is good to get people aware.

If you want, please subscribe to this blog to be notified when I post a new entry, I do post every Wednesday and Friday.

Also if you are a blog or company wanting advertisement or sponsorship please email complicatedfashionbiz@gmail.com because I do want to make this blog the best it can possibly be.

ELF Makeup Haul!

Hey everyone,

Welcome to this post on the blog. Today I wanted to talk about Elf again, they are not sponsoring our blog’s post BUT they did give us permission to continue to write about their products on the blog which is very nice of them.

DISCLAIMER: I am writing this before the package even got to my house, it should be here in two days, so I will be writing another post that is the review for the products. And also all the links for the items will be on the bottom of the page!

So make sure to subscribe to the blog if you haven’t already, and make sure to like this post if you want more haul posts. Now let’s get into it.

Elf had an amazing spring sale on their website, by the time this post gets published, I don’t know if it will still be on, but make sure to check their website just in case: www.elfcosmetics.com

1.) The first thing I got from the sale was an eyeshadow set that came with a brush as well as three eyeshadow duos for $2.00, which I think is such a good deal because you get amazing colors and a brush for so cheap.

2.) I got a baked eyeshadow trio in the purple color. It has like an ombre which I find super pretty. When I went in-store they had a set of these that had so many for like $10.00, and I wanted to get it but I didn’t, and this item was on sale for $1.60 which isn’t too bad. However, I did read online that these are better with a wet sponge applicator, so when it comes I am going to try it wet and dry to see which actually works better.

3.) I’m getting another 2-pack of makeup remover wipes because I have about 1 1/2 packs left and it’s always good to stock up right?

4.) I’m getting my first bronzer. I got a bronzer before but it was a free gift and I gave that gift to my mom so… I’m getting one for myself and this is a baked bronzer and it looks like it has some sparkle, so we will see. This item cost $1.20 on sale. But, it is sold out!

5.) Tone correcting concealer, I guess you can say I got inspired by those instagram makeup tutorials, so I decided that I need a concealer on a stick. We will see how this works out, they only had like one color and it luckily was my own color. I also got this for $0.40 on sale which is a great deal.

6.) An eyeshadow brush because you can never have too many eyeshadow brushes! I got it at regular price for $1.00

7.) Flawless eyeshadow palette because I loved my eyeshadow in the color ‘Tantalizing Toupe’ and this is an ombre which I recently love to do on my eyes. I got this for $0.80

8.) I’m getting another set that has three eyeshadow duos and a brush for $2.00 which like I said isn’t bad.

9.) Another eyeshadow trio for the same price ($1.60) this one is like golden browns and I am really loving the nude look, so we will see!

10.) I’m getting an essential lipstick in a shade that is on sale for $0.40 where the rest are $1.00 or so, I have the nude color and really like it, so I decided to give some pinky colors a shot.

11.) I’m getting another lipstick for $1.00 and it is a more pink color where the other one is a redder color. I really like the berry color.

12.) Another lipstick, I forgot I ordered three, this one is like if you missed numbers 10 and 11 together and this lipstick was one dollar also.

And because we spent more than $25.00 we got a free gift from elf, and their gift changes everyday after I order it feels like, they’re always changing their gifts, so make sure to go check out their collection at www.elfcosmetics.com and you can get so much for $25, My mom and I combined got like 16 or 17 things for that much and we scored free shipping and their gift, so make sure to go order stuff now!

Links to buy the items mentioned:

1.) Baked Eyeshadow Trios

2.) Day to Night Smoky Eye Set

3.) Flawless Eyeshadow Palettes

4.) Essential Lipsticks

5.) Bold Beauty Eye Set

6.) Tone Correcting Concealer

7.) Makeup Remover Wipes- 2 Pack

8.) Baked Bronzers

9.) Eye Shadow Brush

Check Out what my sister got!

10.) Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow

11.) Baked Eyeshadow

Those are all the items that we bought but some of the items we did buy are sold out right now, but make sure to go check out the elf website and check out the items we did purchase. Make sure to see what their special gift is so you can get that deal also, because you do get good stuff!

Automatically you get free shipping when you spend $25 or more, and you can only get a gift when you have $25 or more, and you need to add the code in to your check out process (gift is free)!
