Ulta Beauty Gems Set Review

Happy 2017!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful New Years, a few days before 2016 came to an end I went to Ulta and found this Beauty Gems Set in their clearance section.

I got it for a little over 7 dollars. There are two kinds of this set, I got the smaller one.

It includes:

  • 96 different eyeshadow shades
  • 8 lip colors
  • 1 highlighter
  • 2 blushes
  • 1 bronzer
  • 2 blush brushes
  • 2 lip brushes
  • 2 double-sided sponge applicators for the eyeshadow

That’s a pretty good deal. The first thing I used was the lighter blush shade and the  powder went EVERYWHERE! I thought I was using a children’s makeup set!

However, the blush actually worked, it was very pigmented. I think it was actually too pigmented. I am yet to use the eyeshadow but I will make another review entry for that.

I used the ruby red shade of lip gloss as well. The shade worked, it was red and sparkly and it came off pretty easy when I took my makeup off.

I am excited about this palette overall. Of course the blush went everywhere, but doesn’t it always get messy?

I am excited to use the rest of the palette, I think that it was a great buy especially because it was on clearance and almost fifty percent off.

If you go to Ulta in hopes you’ll find something a little less expensive, make sure to try to find this set!

The New EOS Shimmering Lip Balm Review

Hey guys!

Happy Holidays! I hope you all had a wonderful day on Sunday (if you celebrate). I got a new EOS Shimmering Lip Balm. It is the white and black one, I know that EOS doesn’t reveal the exact flavor/scent. I got the EOS Pearl Balm and it is a solid vanilla.

I know EOS sells a vanilla-mint balm that is in a light blue and white case which I love, it is one of my favorites. I think this new shimmer balm is a lot nicer. I know in the commercials they make these shimmer balms look like it has nothing but glitter on it. This is actually not the case.

This lip balm is white but has a tint of sparkle, when it is on your lips it looks like you have regular lip balm on, of course it’s a clear color.

I have been wanting to try this lip balm for a while now, and when I found out that I got it, I was super excited because then I can have a new topic to write about and review. I think this shimmer is available anywhere you can buy regular EOS lip balms. However, I believe the price is a little higher as they’re still new.

Bottom line is that I LOVE this product already, it makes my lips super soft and I cannot get enough of the amazing scent! I hope you all have the opportunity to try this amazing lip balm out!

E.L.F. Cosmetics- California Baked Eyeshadow Palette

Let me start off this post by saying that this palette is by my favorite makeup company (e.l.f.) I love this brand very much however this California baked palette was kind of a disappointment.
I got this palette at Target for ten dollars which- makeup users know that that is not expensive for makeup. I got home and couldn’t wait to try it out to see how it is.

The palette is in a plastic container and each of the colors are a dome shape. I went in with my Elf brush and it didn’t pick up a ton of the shadow but instead made a mess of the very neat palette.

I decided to put it on with my finger which kind of worked- it didn’t make a mess of my palette but the makeup wouldn’t go on to my lid but rather stayed on my finger.

The last resort that was in my mind at the time was to use sponge applicator wands. I got a large pack of them at the dollar store and they work amazing. I used one and it worked!

However if you are going to use this technique to apply this eyeshadow you must use a lot of eyeshadow so it gets on your eyelid and it shows up.

I have other elf eyeshadows that go on a lot better than this. This eyeshadow is not the best product that elf has sold. But, I figured out a way to use this product and I decided to put this topic on the blog for you guys if you want to test it out for yourselves.

Makeup Brand Reviews: E.L.F.

Hey my readers!

Today I went to Ulta which for those of you who may not know is a cosmetic store that sells all different kinds of makeup such as Revlon, Bare Minerals, Too Faced, Maybelline, and so much more.

Since this visit, I have been in a really good mood because even though some makeup is super expensive and over priced, makeup just makes me happy. Despite wanting to be a best-selling author, I feel like I also want to be a makeup artist as well because I feel like doing my makeup is fun but doing someone else’s is just a ton of more fun.

So, since I feel like today is just a fun, happy, makeup filled day I thought it would be a lot of fun to do a review on a makeup brand which I think is my favorite makeup brand and it is E.L.F.!

E.L.F. is a makeup brand and their products are animal cruelty /testing free and their products are so amazing and they all work great and they’re also very inexpensive. E.L.F.’s mascara you can buy for $1.99 where other brands might be four dollars more which is huge especially when it comes to makeup.

I use many of this brand’s products every day including their Matte Lip Color, All About Eyes set, and Eyeliner and Eyeshadow brushes.

I have been wanting to get more from this brand because their products are so high-quality and very inexpensive. I have been reading shopper’s reviews and I have found some 2-star reviews and I was honestly very surprised because I have had such an amazing experience with this brand.

However, this review was on a product I have yet to purchase (their Baked Highlighter) and summarizing what this shopper said; “It doesn’t come off of your fingers and your brush.”

I read another comment that had 4 stars and this shopper said they had trouble getting it out of the container and they even scraped it off. So, this product must be one of those where you buy products that maybe weren’t made as well as the others that came out of the batch of highlighters.

Every product I have used from E.L.F. has been super great and they come off just as well as the other face products I have used from other brands. Once I get this product I will make a more detailed entry so you guys can check out the product too.

E.L.F. is sold at many different stores including Target, Forever 21, and Ulta, however I didn’t find it actually in the Ulta location I went to, so it might be an online exclusive.

Of course you can visit E.L.F.’s website: http://www.elfcosmetics.com/ to purchase any product directly from them.

Product Review: Yes To Facial Wipes!

Two posts in one day! Today, I am going to talk about these wonderful facial wipes! So my aunt used to work at Ulta several years ago as a makeup artist. Last year for the holidays she gave me a bag full of cosmetics and she gave me these wipes. However, I didn’t use them until last night for the first time.

Now, this will get off-track for a moment. I am a youtuber as some of you know, and I am experimenting with a character that wears some funky makeup. I wear eyeliner in a crease on my eyelid and some bright green eyeshadow. Last night I dressed up as the character to make some short 15 second videos and the bathroom was being used which is where I keep wipes.

I opened up my makeup case and I brought out these wipes and I started using one. The scent wasn’t accurate on blueberries but it worked so well! I know these are facial cleansers but I used this as a makeup remover wipe. The makeup hardly smeared and it came off so much easier than using a baby wipe!

The only thing that I got sad about was how much was in a pouch. I only have one, but there’s 10 wipes in a pouch. I’ll be needing a ton of these in my future!

Bottom line is I recommend these wipes a ton! If you or someone you know wears makeup every day, these make a great gift. They also aren’t too expensive (I’ll post the link to purchase them below) and they come in different scents as well!

Bare Minerals Makeup Review

So when I went on a mall haul about two weeks ago, I stopped in bare minerals to pick up some makeup. I’m new to using foundation and concealer but I am familiar with using blush, eyeliner etc. So I bought the starter kit from there. Which is what I’ll be reviewing on today.

I was busy this past week so I didn’t have time to write so I’m sorry to you guys for not updating, however I am not busy now so I’ll be updating as much as I can! So I believe the starter kit at bare minerals usually costs $99 however when I went they had a big sale and I got mine for $79.

This kit does come with a lot of stuff, so it isn’t a rip off. It comes with 4 items as well as 4 customizable items. It comes with primer and two brushes as well as another powder product (I can’t exactly tell what it is.) Then you’ll pick a blush tone, a foundation, a concealer and a different brush.

I have used mine almost every day since I got it and it works amazing! However, if you have a light skin tone like I do, you do have to use a lot of foundation. Other than that, it’s all working well. It’s super easy to work with and there is actually a lot of makeup in the containers.

I recommend the makeup, and it’s good for your skin. I don’t bother washing off the makeup that matches my skin tone because I can’t see it when I’m wearing it and nothing really happens to my skin, it’s great!

Lush Bath Bomb Review

These things are very cute. Let me start this entry off by saying that. The featured image is my real picture so if you guys use it for a blog or a spread on social media, please give credits to the complicated fashion. The only problem so far is the price. The one that I bought in store costs about five dollars.

That might not sound that bad, but the bigger bath bombs that everyone uses costs anywhere from six to nine dollars. The prices are different in-store than online. But, the great thing is that you can subscribe so every month you can get a bath bomb shipped to your door! Visit www.lush.com to find your country.

Now, back to reviewing. My mom came up with a good idea, which was to cut the bigger bath bombs in half or a quarter to get more for your money. So my sister tried it and she said the water didn’t do fizz and the bath bomb didn’t do anything exciting except make the water change color. Since my bath bomb is small, I just tossed the whole thing in and it worked great. It spun and fizzed and smelled great while doing so. The one I bought is called “pink bath bomb.”

The Pink bath bomb I got has some vanilla in it but it has a strong scent of flowers. It felt nice on my skin and I recommended! Another bath bomb I feel like I can review is their frozen bath bomb. I have not purchased this one since it is arguably the most expensive bath bomb there, but I’ve seen a live demonstration in-store and it works! The bath bomb spins as light blue and white colors swirl in the water, definitely like scene from Frozen. The bottom line is that I recommend both of these products! They work, as long as you put the whole thing in at one time.

Order the ‘Frozen’ and ‘Pink’ bath bombs on the lush website!
